Trans* Personen sind nach wie vor starker Diskriminierung ausgesetzt – auch im Gesundheitswesen. Nicht nur während einer Pandemie stellt dies ein Gesundheitsrisiko dar: Viele trans* Personen vermeiden aus berechtigter Angst vor Diskriminierung Ärzt_innenpraxen, Krankenhäuser und Kliniken. Daher möchten wir zum IDAHOBIT 2020 auf ein Info-Video zur Sensibilisierung von medizinischem Fachpersonal hinweisen. Trans*organisationen können das Video in ihrer Arbeit verwenden, Einzelpersonen können es ihren behandelnden Ärzt_innen zur Verfügung stellen. Es ist auf deutsch und auf englisch verfügbar und kann hier heruntergeladen werden (siehe unten).
Wir hoffen, dass das Video unterschiedliche Akteur_innen im Gesundheitssystem erreicht: Die Medizinischen Dienste der Krankenkassen (MDK), die Gesundheitsämter sowie Hausärzt_innen- und Fachärzt_innenpraxen, Kliniken und Krankenhäuser, das medizinische Personal ebenso wie das Personal in der Verwaltung. Unser Ziel: Dass guter Zugang zu medizinischer Versorgung nicht mehr länger von dem Zufall abhängt, ob es in der eigenen Region sensibilisiertes Personal gibt oder nicht.

Trans* persons are still subject to severe discrimination – also in the health system. It is not only during a pandemic that this can risk people their health: many trans* people avoid medical practices, hospitals and clinics for justified fear of discrimination. For this reason, on IDAHOBIT 2020 we would like to draw your attention to an information video to raise the awareness of healthcare professionals. Trans*organisations can use the video in their work, individuals can make it available to their doctors. It is available in German and English and can be downloaded here (see below).
We hope that the video will reach different people in the health care system: the medical services of the health insurance companies (MDK), the health authorities as well as family doctors and specialists, clinics and hospitals, medical staff as well as administrative staff. Our goal: That good access to medical care no longer depends on chance whether or not there are sensitized personnel in one’s own region.
